Our moonlight tours are guided tours of the Merrimack River using the light of the full moon. As the temperature begins to cool, the winds calm, and world quiets. Paddling by moonlight offers a special experience that you will remember forever. Please come 15 minutes early if you would like kayaking instruction. Appropriate for adults and children.
age 14 and over is eligible to participate in Kayak programs and tours.
Those who are under 18 years of age must have forms signed by their
parent/legal guardian before being eligible to participate. The Kayak
Center may require parent supervision on certain programs. If you are
unsure of your eligibility please contact us.
must be made 7 days prior to program date to recieve a full refund. If
cancellation is made within 7 days of a scheduled program, no refund may
be given. Participants may recieve a refund if someone on the waitlist
can be found to take their place.
a participant signs up on the wait list for a program, they are
indicating interest in this program, but are not committing to the
program. If a spot opens up, the first person on the waiting list will
be contacted by Kayak Center Staff. If that person cannot be reached,
the next person on the waitlist may be contacted. If the waitlisted
person confirms interest in the open spot, they will need to process
full payment to confirm their spot. If they are no longer available to
participate or do not complete their registration, the spot will be
opened up to the next person on the waiting list. A person can choose to
remain on the waitlist in case another spot opens up at a later date.
previous experience is required to participate in Kayak Center
programs. We design programs with beginners in mind, and love to
introduce people to new experiences. For those with some kayak
experience, our staff will try to provide more advanced skills and
feedback on current technique. We encourage intermediate/advanced
kayakers to consider our Level 2 or skills clinic.
What is Included in Program Cost
- Transportation: via 12-passanger van, sometimes used for shuttles upriver
- Instruction and Leadership: our trained and certified staff will teach you the skills you need to know to be successful!
- Equipment: Personal Flotation Devices (aka life jackets), whistles, paddles, and kayaks are provided.
Physical Exertion/Swim Level
general, if you are a person in good physical health, you should expect
to do fine. We recommend that participants know how to swim but this is
not required to participate. Knowing how to swim reduces anxiety about
flipping the boat and allows participants to relax and focus on kayak
